Quizzes are typically used as checkpoints after sections or modules, though they can be placed anywhere in the curriculum. While quizzes function similarly to exams, there are key differences: quizzes are not timed, cannot be proctored, and their scores are not included in official reporting records.

Configuring quiz options
Follow the steps below to configure a quiz:
- Click the Test Settings icon on the drawer on the right side of the screen and select the Options tab.
- A Passing Score is optional. When linear progression is enabled and a passing score is configured, students cannot proceed with the course until they pass the quiz. However, if no passing score is configured, students must only complete one quiz session before proceeding, regardless of their score.
- Configure the following options:
- Random Answer Choices - randomize the order of answer choices
- Limit Attempts - restricts the number of quiz attempts. If left blank, students can retake the quiz until they get a passing score. Additionally, attempts can be reset after a specific number of days or at the end of the calendar year.
- Select a Question Review option. By default, quizzes give immediate feedback after submitting a question response. In addition to displaying the correct and incorrect answer choices, students can view an explanation and related course materials.
- Always allow - Students can always review the quiz questions, regardless of score
- Allow after passing - Students can review all quiz questions only after achieving a passing score
- Allow incorrect after passing - Students can review only the incorrectly answered quiz questions after achieving a passing score
- Never allow review - Does not allow any questions to be reviewed, regardless of score
- Configure an option for Display Correct Answers:
- Always in review - Correct answers are always displayed, regardless of score
- Only after passing - Correct answers will only be displayed after achieving a passing score
- Never show if incorrect - Correct answers are never displayed
- Configure any Test Tools you want to make available to students:
- Calculator - Provides students with an on-screen calculator in a resizable window
- Strikethrough - Allows students to practice test-taking skills by striking out answer choices they know are not correct
- Add custom post-quiz messages using the Pass/Completion Message or Failed Message text fields. These message fields support text, HTML, and media such as videos, images, documents, and more.
- When finished, click the Save button.
