Acadio supports the following question types: 

  • Multiple choice
  • Multiple answer (or multi-select)
  • True or false
  • Fill in the blank 
  • Student upload
  • Matching
  • Simulation exercises 

To create or manage questions, select Content>Questions from the main menu or select Questions from the course navigation menu when in course scope. 

Follow the steps below to create a new question:

  1. Navigate to the Manage Questions area by selecting Content>Questions from the main menu.
  2. Click the Create Question button in the top right corner. This will open the drawer with additional options.
  3. Select the question type you’d like to create and click Next.
  4. In the Question Content text box, enter the stem (the part that sets up a task or poses a question to the learner.)
  5. Enter the Answer Options below. You can enter as many answer choices as you’d like. Select the correct answer.
  6. Add an explanation or rationale in the Question Explanation.

  7. Once finished, click the Finish button.




This is an example of question content, answer choices, and the question explanation. 

After entering your question, answer choices, and explanation, use the radio buttons to configure the question or create another question. 

Configuration options include: 

  • Adding notes, tags, or metadata to aid in question organization and management
  • Mapping the question to course topics (this is required to enable the Study Bank and Performance course apps) 
  • Adding related resources such documents, images, snippets, videos, or any other item in your asset library that should be available to the learner
 

TIP: Once a question is published and its status is Active, it can be assigned to quizzes, exams, and the Study Bank or inserted into content.

 

Question Import

If you are migrating from another LMS, you may consider using the Question Import feature to transfer your questions into Acadio quickly.

Follow the steps below to import your questions: 

  1. Navigate to the Manage Questions area by selecting Content>Questions from the main menu.
  2. Select the Import tab from the drawer on the right side of the screen. 

  3. Open the XLSX file template by clicking View Template.
  4. Download the template by clicking File>Download and selecting Microsoft Excel .xlsx.
  5. Arrange your data using the headers in the template file. You must indicate the question type, question stem, answer choices, and the correct answer. Optional fields include explanation, meta key, and meta value. 
  6. Once finished, click the Choose File button to upload your template.
