Completion approval can be enabled for all activity types. Once enabled, these activities must be marked complete by an administrator. Upload activities always require completion approval and the option cannot be disabled for this activity type. Other use cases include proctored exams and verification of webinar attendance.
IMPORTANT: Certifable courses allow students to finish the course, but do not issue certificates of completion until the activity requiring approval is reviewed and accepted.
Follow the steps below to enable completion approval on an activity:
- Double-click into the activity from the curriculum.
- Select Options from the drawer on the right of the screen.
- Switch the Requires Completion Approval toggle on.
Accepting/rejecting Activities
Follow the steps below to review activities requiring completion approval:
- From the curriculum, double-click the activity that contains completions you wish to review.
- Click the Student Activity tab on the drawer on the right of the screen.
- Student uploads are listed in the Review column. Click the filename to view the upload in a new browser window.
- Select a student by clicking the checkbox to the left of the student's name.
- Use the drop-down menu and select Mark Complete or Reject Completion.
When rejecting a completion, the administrator can also leave a reason for the rejection which is visible to the student.
Certification courses
Activities pending approval in Certification courses can also be reviewed from the Reporting queue.
Follow the steps below to review an activity from the Reporting queue:
- Select Reporting from the main menu.
- Students with course completions pending the review of an activity will be listed in the Pending tab.
- Click on a completion date in the Completed column to open the drawer and view pending activities.
- Files submitted for review via an Upload activity are displayed below the activity name and upload date. Click the filename to view the upload.
- Select the activity by activating the toggle on the right and then click Reject or Accept.
