Custom activities can be used to embed HTML interactive elements and external resources. Examples of custom activity use cases include:
- Interactive learning activities such as crossword puzzles or matching exercises
- Hosted slideshows & PowerPoint presentations
- Important events & training calendars
- Embedded animations
- Embedded forms
- Embedded iframe content
- Hosted audio or video media
- Hosted digital books
Follow the steps below to add a Custom activity to the curriculum:
- Navigate to the course you wish to build and select Curriculum from the course navigation.
- Click the + below the list of Curriculum items to add a new activity to the end of the course. Use the + to the right of the list of Curriculum items to add a new activity below the currently selected item or within the current section. Then, select Custom from the available activities menu.
- Click the new custom activity to edit it.
- Enter the HTML snippet into the HTML Content field.
- Add a title for the new custom activity. You can also add an optional introduction and estimated completion time.
- When finished, click Save and publish your activity.
TIP: While many of the use cases listed above are best handled using native Acadio functionality, custom activities allow for a greater level of customization and more control over the student experience.
