The platform's Pages feature allows you to create custom pages and menu items. This functionality can be used to create student resource pages, sales pages, FAQ pages, and more, or to guide students to external resources like your website or store. Pages and menu items can be added at the platform or course level. Platform-level items are displayed can be displayed in the main menu, while course-level items can be displayed in the course menu. They can also be hidden from the menus and accessible only with a URL. 

Creating a new platform page/menu item

Platform pages and menu items can be displayed to students in the main menu. 

Follow the steps below to create a new platform page or menu item: 

  1. Select Content>Pages from the main menu. 

  2. In the Page Title field, enter a name for the new item. The title should be as concise as possible to avoid wrapping text in the menu. 

  3. Select an icon for the new item using the Icon search field. 
  4. Select a Page Type. Use Custom Content to create a page on the Acadio platform. Use Menu Item Redirect to redirect students to a specified URL, either on or off of the platform.  
    • Selecting Custom Content will open the WYSIWYG editor and allow you to begin constructing the new page. If you want the new page displayed to students in the menu, ensure that the Show in Menu toggle is enabled. Platform-level items will be displayed in the main menu while course-level items will be displayed in the course menu. 
    • Selecting Menu Item Redirect will display a field to enter the URL where you would like to send students. To open the URL in a new tab or window, ensure the New Window toggle is enabled. 
  5. When finished, click Save

IMPORTANT: If a custom page is configured to show in the menu, saving it will make it accessible to students immediately. It is a good practice to preview the custom page prior to displaying it in the menu. To do this, first, disable the Show in Menu toggle. Then, click Save. You should now see your new item in the list to the right of the Create Page area. Click the three dots to the right of the item and select Preview. If the page looks ready for students, enable the Show in Menu toggle and click Save again. If additional edits are needed, select Edit from the menu. 

When embedding videos hosted by third parties in a custom page, you should adjust the width and height of the table cell in which the video is inserted.  This will ensure that the video is displayed optimally for students. To do this, right-click the video and select Table Properties. Set the width to 100% and the height to 600px. Then, click Save

Creating a new course page/menu item

Course pages and menu items can be displayed to students in the course menu. 

Follow the steps below to create a new course page or menu item: 

  1. Navigate to the course to which you would like to add the new page.
  2. Select Settings from the course menu.
  3. Click the Apps tab.
  4. Locate the Pages app and click the Install App button. Then, click Add Shortcut to add the app to the admin course menu for quick access. 
  5. Select Apps>Pages from the course menu.

  6. In the Page Title field, enter a name for the new item. The title should be as concise as possible to avoid wrapping text in the menu. 
  7. Select an icon for the new item using the Icon search field. 
  8. Select a Page Type. Use Custom Content to create a page on the Acadio platform. Use Menu Item Redirect to redirect students to a specified URL, either on or off of the platform.

Editing a page or menu item

Once created, pages and menu items can be edited using the list to the right of the Create Page area. Click the three dots to the right of an item to PreviewEdit, or Delete it. When multiple items exist, use the Move Up and Move Down options to reorder them in the menu


To retrieve a custom page's URL, select Edit. The page's URL is displayed just above the Page Title field.
