Certifiable
The certifiable course type is ideal for any education required to earn or maintain a license, credential, or certification. For example, continuing education courses would use this type of course. These courses include a final assessment, issue a certificate upon completion, and are typically reported to a governing body, regulator, or organization.
Certifiable courses:

- Issue certificates upon completion
- Can be reported to an organization
Open-Ended Learning
Open-ended learning courses generally include comprehensive materials that prepare students for specific entrance, licensing, or credentialing exams. These courses often include a question study bank, textbook material, video lectures, practice exams, flashcards, and more. Students are generally allowed to move through the course at their own pace.
Open-ended learning courses:
- Cannot be completed
- Do not issue certificates
- Cannot be reported to an organization

Training courses typically include instructional content that teaches or develops specific job-related skills. They are similar to certifiable courses, generally including a final assessment and issuing a certificate upon completion. However, training courses allow students to continue accessing course materials, such as exams, even after the course is complete, while certifiable courses do not.
