Course retakes can be configured by navigating to Settings on the course navigation menu and selecting Options. By default, once a course is completed, a student will not be able to retake it. When a course becomes available for a student to retake, all previous progress and completion data is reset.
The blackout period for a course retake can be set in a number of days or within the same calendar year (e.g., the student would not be permitted to retake the course until the next calendar year.)
IMPORTANT: When configuring a course with course retakes and limiting exam attempts, it is imperative to set the reset attempts duration to be less than or equal to the course retake period. For instance, if the course needs to reset 180 days after a student completes it, you should first configure the retake settings to allow retakes within 180 days.
