Introduction

This short guide will walk you through the steps to generate the WooCommerce Consumer Key & Secret you’ll need to integrate your store with Acadio. It only takes a few clicks—no developer help is required.

Prerequisites

To complete this process, you will need:

  1. Admin access to your WordPress site
  2. WooCommerce plugin installed and activated

Step‑by‑Step Instructions

3.1. Log into WordPress Admin

  1. Open your browser and go to https://your‑site.com/wp‑admin.
  2. Sign in with your WordPress administrator username and password.

3.2. Navigate to the REST API Settings

From the main menu, click WooCommerce>Settings.

  1. Select the Advanced tab.

  1. Click on REST API.

3.3. Create a New API Key

  1. Click the Create an API Key button.

  2. In the Description field, enter a name like “Acadio Integration”.
  3. For the User, ensure your admin account is selected.
  4. Set Permissions to Read/Write.



  5. Now, click the Generate API Key button.

3.4. Copy & Secure Your Credentials

You’ll see two strings: Consumer Key and Consumer Secret. Copy both values and store them somewhere safe (e.g., a password manager).

Important: Treat these like passwords—anyone with these can access your store’s data.

3.5. Connect to Acadio

In Acadio, select Settings from the main menu. Then, select Integrations. Locate the WooCommerce app and click the Install button. 

You'll be prompted to enter your:

  • Store URL (e.g., https://your‑site.com)
  • Consumer Key
  • Consumer Secret

You also need your shop URL, which can be found in Settings>General in WordPress.

When finished, click Save.

Acadio will fetch your products, orders, and customers. After connecting WooCommerce to Acadio, it can take a few minutes for orders to appear.

Verification

Navigate to Shop from the main menu. Select the Products tab. Confirm that your WooCommerce products appear.

Next, place a test order in WooCommerce and check to see if it comes through to Acadio.
