To configure the student experience, select Settings from the course menu and click the Options tab. Then, scroll down the page to the Course Experience section.
These options control how students interact with the learning activities in the curriculum:
- Linear progression - when enabled, this setting requires students to complete curriculum activities in sequential order. Students cannot proceed to the next activity until the current activity is completed. Additionally, when linear progression is enabled, activity times can be enforced. This setting requires students to spend specific time on an activity before it's marked complete.
When this feature is disabled, students can complete the learning activities in any order, and activity times cannot be enforced.
- Allow Course Retakes - allows students to retake a previously completed course after a specified amount of time has elapsed. The blackout period for a retake can be set in number of days or within the same calendar year
- Course Inactivity Timeout - stops course progress after the student has been inactive for a specified time. This setting forces students to remain active and engaged with the learning activities
- Course Exam Lockout - locks access to all other learning activities and resources while an exam is in progress
- Periodic Authentication - requires students to reauthenticate in specified intervals by entering a secret. Failure to reauthenticate locks the course and requires either an admin to reopen it or for the student to reset the secret via email
